It's been raining constantly for 2 days now, and there's still more to come. It's also raining in Belgium and Germany and all that will come through the Netherlands :D

>>37257 yeah, that tsunami back when came to mind. Luckily nobody I know was harmed, only one friend saw his basement flooded. But he said that happens with every long period of rain.

Odd part is though, this has happened before just not in this scale.
One would think living nearby rivers, at least here in Europe, that this is a likely scenario each summer when the glacier melt. I've seen rivers swell twice their sizes in Austria.
However, more than half of the Netherlands is below the sea level so I guess it's not that odd.

>>37256 Looks more like something a tidal wave would leave behind.
I can certainly empathize your horror with these rains. Hurricane Harvey left Houston in a similar situation but not with the high death toll.

This is what's left behind by the flooding in a Germany. Just insane!

*Not sure what the green line is about, presumably showing how high the water level was.

>>37255 We needed human seatbelts back then too. It seemed normal back then but it seems crazy now that rear seatbelts only became law in 1987!

>>37251 That was a sweet as fuck car and I won't hear a word against it! My dad had 3 of these in the 70's. One of which got written off when we hit a cow, but thankfully all of us in the car were fine. :)

In Germany it's worse. 80 dead and hundreds missing, several houses collapsed.

Indeed, mister FluffyDeathPaw, indeed.

>>37247 The humidity is even worse. It hasn't cooled that much and the mosquito's are everywhere!

Luckily I live on the 4th floor. But buying a boat now seems like a good investment.

Flooding sucks :/

There sure is a lot of crazy weather around this year. I feel very fortunate that it's mostly been dry and mild where I am.

I guess now is a good time to book a boating holiday.
