Probably....it'll wash off. Maybe he'll wish it will come off. What a true fan.

Republican party is a tad fucked up right now. Rubio and Cruz are nabbing a lot of votes. Trump 469... Clinton 1235! Lot of Republicans have also said they'd sooner vote Democratic than for Trump. Democrats have a stronger chance of winning the way it's going right now.

15/03/16(Tue)23:31

Trump is largely expected to kill it today (minus, perhaps, Ohio, where it could be close). Florida is a "winner-take-all" state and he'll get 99 delegates.

>>32243>>32241 It's a given you both have valid points. We bitch about the people in power and how they think more about themselves than the folk they represent but it's still a damn site better that a police run state where the people have no say whatsoever in the voting process. Now-a-days we vote for the scum that are the least corrupt and sometimes it's hard to find one.

Here in the UK we have a very simple political system. We allow the privileged few to take control of the country (it doesn't matter what the party is called as they are all the same) and allow them to shit on us from a great height. We call it democracy, and apparently we are very lucky to have it.

Wilders Trump = same shit

Thanks for the info! I always thought the US only had 3 parties (Democrats, Republicans, and independents)..Our news coverage only tells the highlights.

In our system we don't elect the PM, just the ppl (and thus the parties) who we want to ru(i)n the country. But a party who has won the most votes can still choose to run in the opposition if they feel like it.
Some parties are direct opposites of one-another and they feel like it won't benefit the country if they form such an uneasy coalition.

As for elite..most of our politicians are well educated (economics and so), and some are directly from the 'streets'. However those aren't ready or think too easy about politics. A lot of the newer parties see lots of people go, they underestimate the job and/or workload. Wilders' party, the PVV, has this issue.

One other thing to add to my comment below: There's a lot of different parties in the general election besides Democratic and Republican. You can look them up. The Socialists Workers Party has a candidate each year, the Klu Klux Klan have had a schmuck from time to time plus many more. You'd be surprised how many votes the commies get. Everyone gets a chance!

It's kind of a long process on the road to the big convention. All Democrats, Republicans, Independent, and other parties will have their respective conventions. The primary elections tell each party candidate how much support they have from the voters across the country. The losers (those with few votes) usually drop out of the race and cast their support for their favorite candidate within the party. The voters for the losers follow the suggested support (usually). The top two candidates will go to their respective national convention and state delegates will cast their vote for their favorite candidate. That person runs for President in the General Election against the other party.
Your system doesn't seem all that bad although it's a little complicated for me. I like you have representation of labor parties within the ruling government. Our old fat bastards and street whores are all white collar and rich. Their hands have never seen an honest days work in their life. They've been living off the voters since college (a lot are lawyers). That in itself should tell you how honest they are.

So now the people vote who becomes the runner-up for the respective party who will run to become the next potus. (strange sentence but I hope I made sense.)

So when the actual election for potus begins, how many names will be on that ballot? Will you choose the potus and congress?

Here is a good read on our funky electoral system https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cabinet_of_the_Netherlands#Formation

It's basically the same here, Grim. I suppose registering is to prove the person isn't dead, although the dead have been known to vote before. Voting must be done within a person's voting district (I assume this can keep track of the legal registered voter). The ballot is the same as yours and dropped into a ballot box. If a person is away from the U.S. they can fill out an 'absentee form' and mail it to their voting district (usually military and those working abroad.)

How do you vote in the US, btw? I mean before you can actually press the button or cross the box. I heard one has to be registered?

In the Netherlands everybody is already registered. You get a voting-card in the mailbox and then you can vote in any of the voting booths in your city. You show the voting-card and your ID, the officials check both and take away the voting-card (to prevent voting twice), and give you a huge voting list (see pic). Then you can privately pick the least corrupt one, fold it neatly and slide it in a secured box.

This man would have been a good pick but he dropped out. Has good credentials as a leader. He knows foreign affairs, military career, known as a 'conservative democrat' (which would have helped bring the two parties together).
I'm not a voter, Grim. Presidents are just a figurehead controlled by Congress and big business.
