Maybe some day you'll be able to put your finger on that.

I don't care much about snow, tbh, it's fun for a month or so. Than you wish the sun would come back asap.

It's just those islands attract me, I just can't put my finger on it....

>>31277 Caribbean is a totally different way of life and it never snows. Prices are too high and store selections are limited. O.K. to visit but not live.

Zell am See, Austria

>>31270 The climate wasn't all that different from where I live now. I also had some stuffy airway problems during the night. But I didn't had that when I was in Austria or Normandy. So if I had to choose I probably go for Austria, simply cause I can speak more German than French. Also the food is great there (Schnitzels!)

But I haven't been to the Caribbean or Pacific islands yet ;)

Looks beautiful! I'll put it on my bucket list.

Interesting. Beautiful scenery also. Is there a reason you'd rather retire there than where you now live?

My mum's 60 year birthday was the event. My mum and dad visited this place a couple of years ago, and loved it very much. Also it isn't a too long drive, just 7 hours (with stops) but it helped driving in Germany.

It just a very beautiful place, with the lake nearby, the mountains in the background, the English oriented people was handy too. You can drive 1 hour and be high up in the mountains or visit some medieval village (>>31262), plenty stuff to see and do. But most places were expensive too, especially the restaurants; 20 usd for a salad :O

The place is called Évian-les-Bains in France, it's were Evian (the bottled water) comes from. It's situated near Lake Geneva, and shares it with Switzerland. Funny note about this is that the Swiss still have a border crossing with guards, but both Germany and France do not have guards.

>>0 Was the trip for an occasion or just to 'get away'.

What makes you choose this. The water? People? Away from city life?

So...where are we?
