>>27478 Good to know every time I eat fish or shrimp I'm helping to recycle. I like that.

>>27468 It's no so much a single mass as an area that contains a massive amount of floating rubbish. Much of it is indeed just below the surface and can't be easily seen.
Much more worrying is that every drop of sea water contains tiny particles of plastic now, and so does everything you eat from the sea. Before WW2 there was no such thing. :/

if we can send people to the moon and land objects on some red planet, we can surely grab some plastic floating in the sea.

Her's an idea: send convicts to the area and have them collect it.

>>27468 I've heard of that; ensnares fish and mammal life thus killing it. I don't know if it's floating or partially submerged. They (scientists) don't know how to destroy it successfully. I thought it was 1000 sq. miles but maybe larger it is.

There is supposed to be a giant floating trash ball in the Pacific ocean, the size of Texas!
If it's that big, why can't we see it on Google Earth?!?!

>>27452 Much better to prevent capsizing and I agree with mine...he's holding it from capsizing (stability) and that's why I suggested filling bottles in the bottom.

better at rigidity?

I'm more concerned with the overall stability. It doesn't look that rigid, probably that's why he's holding the sides.

Cheap boats...gotta love 'em. I would think that bottle boat (>>0) should have some jugs on the bottom full of water to provide ballast and keep it from capsizing.

I prefer duct tape, if you spring a leak, add more ;)

Weeeelllll, Grim.... when beer comes in 1 liter jugs you can set sail on the North Sea the next day.

Because it wouldn't work if *we* tried it!
