>>27491 The last Dell was over $2000.00 and that was overkill!
I already have a 5.1 speaker system! That's how I could hear you guys shooting at me in the simulated sky! :p
The sound card is a Rosewill 7.1 PCI RC-702

28/04/14(Mon)22:57

>>27487 Finding a 7.1 speaker system isn't easy, but as Grim says a 5.1 will be perfect and as the PC will have an output for each pair of speakers you can always just add another stereo pair to make it 7.1 :)

28/04/14(Mon)22:36

720 is cheap, especially compared to mine :D
And I don't even have a dvd/bluray player installed! However I do have a portable one, for the rare occasion I need to install a game or burn a dvd (happen once last year ;) )

Better look for a 5.1 surround set, 7.1 is rare and still too expensive. Btw, what kind of connectors does the sound card have? 3.5mm or 6.2mm or idunno? ;)

And JC is right. 64-bit OS requires 64-bit drivers.

28/04/14(Mon)22:02

>>27479 JC, stop confusing me! ;D

28/04/14(Mon)22:01

>>27481 Around $720! It also has TWO cup holders! :p
One for BluRay, and the other for DVD/CD's and PC games of course!
And there is no slot for a 3.5 inch disc, since they are pretty much useless these days! And ten USB ports, four of them in the front! And a 7.1 surround sound card!
I'm having trouble finding a 7.1 speaker system in this town, since the Circuit City closed here!

28/04/14(Mon)17:54

>>27475 aha..it just looked pre-built, my bad. How much did it cost you?

Oh man, I really need to re-install A-10. Maybe we can fly together?
JC, you have a copy? Or are you playing War Thunder?

28/04/14(Mon)16:56

>>27475 When trying to get older hardware to work with the new PC keep in mind you may be running a 64bit version on windows now and would need to get the latest x64 drivers from the manufacturers website. Those old 32bit drivers that came on the CD with the product won't work with x64. Equally old 32bit XP drivers generally won't work on Windows 7 regardless of it being 32 or 64 bit.

28/04/14(Mon)13:31

>>27473 This one isn't pre-built! I had someone do it for me, like I had the Dell Dimension 9100!
And I had the computer guy install everything that I need to get that A-10 Warthog Sim! :D
AND this one can run two screens! Yay!

28/04/14(Mon)08:39

>>27459 I haven't bought a pre-built computer since 1997, goodgrief. I select all the parts and assemble it myself. Only the best parts (performance to price and sometimes just performance) in my case!
And yes, I look inside and also want to touch it ;) I was always interested into taking things apart, just to see how it works (exception are animals and humans; too messy)

>>27461 Oh nice, 2GB video memory, max out all games! Did you install the latest Nvidia driver: 335.23?
get it here if you didn't http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/73780

Now get a bigger monitor, at least a 21.5" @ 1920x1080! they are cheap now
http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/monitor/#W=2150,3200&r=192001080&sort=a11

As for the Trackmanmarble from Logitech? Did you check the website and installed the latest driver/software? Make sure to select Windows 7 now.

Do you guys buy a computer and then just start taking it apart? I like my Dell. It has a plug on the end of it.

as for display, right click on the desktop -> click on 'Screen Resolution' -> Click on 'Advance settings'

Oh btw, if you click on the windows key (standard left bottom) you can type in what you need/want. Like 'snipping tool', a very handy tool, go try it out!

It's all totally different to what I'm used to! Also trying to get it to display what video card is in there! I've had this thing now, for only three days! Everything is WAAY different! Here's a quick pic of the vid card!

Your 'fat' desktop dimensions:

Depth: 13.70" / 34.80 cm

Crazy! That circular saw is tiny and barely up to the job! He should get a bigger one :)
