That's one bad-ass Enfield and the steam shovel was way beyond my Dad's pocketbook.

I had lots of Lego and Meccano (Like Erector) :)
I still have some Lego and Meccano. It's great for prototyping.

I had tinker toys, but I was about four then! I do remember having a basic Erector set in the 60's! And Lincoln Logs in there somewhere! The really good thing a few of us had were slot cars! They were a blast!

Then there were "Erector Sets". My dad had one, and 20 years later I had one.

(When an elderly local doctor married a much younger gal, the nurses all chipped in and bought him an Erector Set :)

We had 'Tinker Toys' (round wooden tires with holes and colored sticks of various lengths). Then there was 'Lincoln Logs' one could construct log cabins with. I ate a few of those and drove my mom and doctor crazy. Things have a way of working themselves out.

I had "American Bricks" - they were like legos, but made of wood and some larger - domino sized. I spent hours building things with them! Later, there was a plastic version that "stuck together" more like Legos.

legos are the best!

I never had Legos when I was a kid! :(

Come a long way from the day I bought my kids a small box of these things.
