Nashville's famous country music venue is flooded, as is much of Nashville, Tennessee.

Country music 1950's

>>4047 Thanks for the added info, dookie.

When I was a kid, I was amused by a local country western live radio program. A group or a person would sing a depressing tear jerker song, something like "my lover ran off with my best friend (cry) and I'm so broken hearted (cry)". It was all sob sob sob! When that was over, the group would really yuk it up, laughing and telling jokes and funny stories. Then they would launch into another depressing tear jerker song!

The Ryman Auditorium's OK. This place is the Grand Ole Opry they built outside of Nashville beside Opryland. Negligible historic value, easily rebuilt. The whole park, the massive hotel, and the latest home of The Opry are all touristy places that will be easily replaced.

If you want to feel bad for country music, feel bad for the shit it turned into in the 90's and 00's.

There hasn't been much coverage of the terrible weather they've been having due to it being election time here, but from what I've seen it's pretty terrible. The effects of flooding sadly last long after the water has gone.
