We have a job to do. Quite often the good design methods get set aside in favor of other requirements or most commonly due to manufacturing cost. Don't blame the engineers. At least, don't blame me.
The optimist sees the glass as half full. The pessimist sees the glass as half empty. The engineer sees the glass as twice as big as it needs to be. :D
