Another handy item I didn't knew I needed. I wanted something like this even before my G13 died but I lack(ed) the knowledge of building it myself using a raspberry pi.
So when the thing was on sale I bought one.
I mostly use it for games to set keys or macros that I hardly use or find difficult to remember (age?). But it's a handy tool for starting up programs in windows or binding the million shortcuts in GIMP.
>>35535 It would be complicated to make one. Each key would need a tiny LCD and microprocessor to control the LCD. That amounts to a shit-ton (that's a technical term for a lot) of work for a full keyboard. At some point some enterprising company will produce a tiny LCD with the all the controller electronics built in for a good price and perhaps then it'll be possible. Making a Streamdeck like device like yours would be simpler and not too difficult.
I really like these. I wish we could have entire keyboards with lcd displays in each key. One day I think that might be quite normal.
I assume you have also done what everybody who buys one of these does, setup a profile for various fart noises :D
