"Gluttony conveyed by Drunkenness" This drinking vessel is as unusual as it is valuable. It was made in 1550 and shows a fat drunk in a wheelbarrow being pushed by Bacchus. The work was cast in silver and parcel gilt.
Vintage Uber? Here's the story...Dionysus (god of wine) has partaken a bit to much and called for help to get home from one of his faithful Satyrs. The clever fellow chooses to take the barrel of wine out of the wheelbarrow and wear it as a costume and place the inebriated Dionysus in the wheelbarrow as he is no shape to get home.
