>>33327 yes..yes, that was exactly what I was thinking when I threw that pos 3 stories down.*

>>33326 So your theory is that it may grow a 10" monitor tree so you'll have as many you could ever want. Good thinking! I'm off to plant my laptop to see what grows...

03/03/17(Fri)13:58

>>33320 I've send it into the ground.

>>33317 Bummer! Send it back for a replacement.

:( sad news! Damn thing is busted. The screen doesn't recognize any input (hdmi) anymore, it doesn't display any information.

fuck.

Update! So I just tested the touchscreen with Rasbian and it works..but iffy. It doesn't properly register the correct location..unlike in w10. But it could be due to my big fingers, it might work better with a stylus pen but I don't have one. However as just a screen it works fine, although if used soley with the Pi I would recommend a smaller screen, one that uses the usb ports of the Pi as a power source.

>>33249 yeah, no. Already tried that. Can't calibrate. Can't progress.
Touch screen also has no driver, it's just a plug&play monitor, same as the acer.

12/01/17(Thu)20:26

>>33248 According to the interwebs:
Control Panel/TabletPC/calibration - a dialog pops up, press the settings button, and there you can select which screen the touch works for.
*if the option isn't available in control panel try searching in cortana to make it appear.

Okay, so the touch screen works in W10. But it's wonky as fuck. Any input on the touchscreen display is ONLY seen on the primary 27" monitor.

Example: you open 2 web pages, one on the touchscreen and one on the main monitor, you think if you scroll on the touchscreen it would scroll that page down (on the touchscreen)..but it doesn't move at all. It moves the page on the main monitor. :/

I've tried the PC tablet function in W10, nothing to calibrate, sure the touch-function works on the touchscreen but as it's registered and shown on the main monitor the program won't recognize it. Now I could put the touchscreen as main monitor but applications and games will then run on that tiny 10" 1280x800@60Hz display and not on the glorious 27" 2560x1440@144Hz display ;)
It also works fine if it's the only display, so using it with the Raspberry Pi isn't an issue.

C'mon Microsoft, get your shit together!

>>33233 aah, well it's a 1280x800 @ 60Hz IPS touch screen with 3 or 4 lighting modes (very bright, bright, not so bright, and off). But that function only works if you have the usb cable attached. It really is a beautiful screen though, very clear..just like IPS is.

oh my my..I could do with some pie but forgo the PI or he'll run off with my Pi. (sorry I'll stop now)

As for the RC tank, I have one sitting in the basement. Guarding my bicycle. It would be nice if I could repurpose it into a killer again.

Here is a PI with some Pie for your Pi.

Actually since I have 2 Pi's I think I'll get the 7" version. Maybe build something with an infrared camera or go all out with one of my RC models ;)

7" dsi-dpi connection

All I know are the 5", 7", & 10" displays.

The 5 & 7" displays are 800x480, but there are so many variants and not enough info. Most do support 10-finger touch.

From the Raspberry website: "Only two connections to the Pi are required; power from the Pi’s GPIO port and a ribbon cable that connects to the DSI port present on all Raspberry Pi."

Well, not my 10" model.

Sweet! What model is the 8" touch screen?

I can still use the Raspberry Pi (attached to the back) if I switch the hdmi cable.

Windows 10 recognized the touch screen without any issue. I did had to turn 'snap window' off, cause once you opened a browser or other app in the tiny monitor it couldn't and wouldn't 'return' to the bigger monitor.

So the main monitor is 2560 x 1440p, and the smaller one is only 1280 x 800p. Both are IPS.
