I just watched the first episode (pilot) of Star Trek last week. I was surprised to see Pike, and not Kirk, as the Captain of the Enterprise. I am not a Trekkie. Obviously.

1978 series, Maren Jensen was a treat for the eyes imo

The original (late 70's / early 80's) started out good with the pilot being worth the watch. It got boring, with little action, real quickly. It lost its luster after riding in on the coattails of Star Wars and went to cable. Didn't do any better there.

I watched all this a while back. It started well but it drifted off towards the end. Still not bad though.
I've just finished watching the whole Andromeda series. It's not bad and worth a watch if you like scifi.
