The dragonfly is probably 2-3 inches long and the hornet about an inch. The hornets have two nests going outside my house and I'm letting them get away with it, currently, because the hornets return the favor by going around eating the bugs off the leaves of my fruit and veggie plants.
The problem is that the nests keep getting bigger and bigger and I'm going to be in over my head with hornets very soon!
This baby (Vespa mandarinia) has been spotted in America! It's body length is approximately 50 mm (2 in), its wingspan about 76 mm (3 in), and it has a 6 mm (0.2 in) sting which injects a large amount of potent venom.
haa, the joys of Asia coming to the rest of the world.
>>25093 Noming on the hornet is a real bonus! :)
PS. Do you have extremely small hornets or huge dragonflys?
Our hornets are 2 inches long and our biggest dragonfly is about 4 inches long.
