Do you say 'Fifty Three Hundred' or 'Five Thousand Three Hundred'?

And what about 8844?

UPDATE to >>25015

I caught myself on the phone with a client quoting a dollar amount. It was $2135.

I said, "Twenty-one, thirty-five." So I guess that's how I do it now. :)

Because I deal with money, I have to be deliberate sometimes. Five-thousand sometimes sounds like more than fifty-three hundred.

If I must be exact with a client or colleague, I say fifty-three hundred. 5300

If I am free to be loosey-goosey with the numbers, I generally round up or down. In the case of 5344, I round that down to fifty-three hundred.

And if I am jotting down my take of the pie, I use 8.8k for 8844.

Anyone who does it differently than this is stupid. :D

Five thousand, three forty four.

05/08/13(Mon)16:18

Five thousand three hundred.
Eight thousand, eight hundred and forty four.
Anyone who says otherwise is wrong!!! XD

>>25002 odd on 8844. So 5344 would be said like five thousand, three forty four? Instead of five thousand, three hundred and forty four?

5300 in Dutch (translated to English): drie en vijftig honderd (three and fifty hundred)

8844 in Dutch (translated to English): acht duizend acht honderd en vier en veertig (eight thousand eight hundred and four and forty)

Fifty three hundred

Eight thousand, eight forty four
