My new baby :)

Nikon D7000
As it's just been replaced by a newer model the D7000 is available at bargain prices now, but it's still considered one of the DSLRs money can buy :)
Lenses haven't arrived yet so just the body to show. I hope the lenses come soon, I want to be taking pictures :D

>>23266 After you've finished all that reading, you should take a picture of the book/books and frame it.

30/03/13(Sat)12:45

>>23252 The book is all in English :/ And when I've finished that there's another manual with more detail that's another 500 pages :S

>>23254 I haven't finished the book yet so it's possible that's a feature I've yet to find :D

>>23233 Those things do so many things they do everything except wipe your butt.

29/03/13(Fri)19:45

>>23233 You only have to read the English part. Skip the Spanish, French, German and Japanese parts. ;)

I'm going to concentrate on still shots first. I'm only on page 92 of my camera guide so far, just 400 pages to go :D

28/03/13(Thu)19:01

A new video! yay!

28/03/13(Thu)18:49

now I'm getting excited to go out shooting with my camera again! I've been watching a number of HDR videos showing best practices and tips and tricks.

When will you be posting video? :D

28/03/13(Thu)18:00

>>23204 It's 16.2Mp 4,928 × 3,264. You can get 24Mp cameras now for similar money, but Mp's aren't everything, especially once you hit about 10Mps.
The big LCD on the back is only used to quickly review pictures after you take them, or for menus and detailed info if you need it, all the important information is on the top LCD which helps the camera save a lot of power. The back LCD can also be used to show a live view, like you see in the view finder. You can also plug in external screens to view menus and live view or use an android phone or PC to view the LCD and control the camera!?! :D

>>23185 Ninja cat allows humon to take snaps :D
So what's the original size and format?

Can you turn off the LCD screen? I presume that saves some power.

>>23164 But because a new model has come out you can find it for as little as £640 :)
>>23165 it has a single rechargeable 7.2V 1900mah Li-ion battery. But by using an additional Battery grip on the bottom of the camera you can also power it with 6 AA batteries.
>>23168 I could have bought another Sony camera with HDR, Panorama etc all built in, but I prefer the Nikons overall quality and can you do do all those things better on a PC afterwards anyway. Yes it is my Sony Xperia phone that has the panorama shot function, but I think most sony phones and cameras have it now, and you can get it for most android phones too.

27/03/13(Wed)23:27

neat tutorial for long exposure shots. I need to do more of these, as well as HDR. Does the camera have the panorama tool that your other camera (phone??) has?

I think I need to get this lens. It's only £15 and will convert my camera to work just like a crappy old Chinese camera XD

27/03/13(Wed)00:21

Both Nikon and Cannon build lenses under another name. I have them and just can't tell the difference. Half the price was what attracted me. The batteries are the same way and boy are they expensive.

>>23135 I've ordered a Sigma 17-70mm Standard Zoom and a Nikon 70-300mm Telephoto Zoom. Both have Image stabilisation built in and quiet ultrasonic motors :)
As for requests, yes I will send you the pictures of my wang you ask for a while back.

>>23136 Yes, I have been thinking about for a long time but figured while I've got the money just buy it before something else turns up to steal it away! :D
Full HD 1920x1080 video :)
I considered Canon too, but the reviews for the D7000 along with the current bargain price made it a must have choice.

>>23143 Not just the circuits but a beautiful magnesium alloy body too >>>
I need that Auto mode too for all my brain dead days :D

As you guys can tell I've really spoiled myself with this purchase, but I've always wanted a camera where the limiting factor is me and not the camera.

26/03/13(Tue)22:00

Beautiful! The amount of printed circuitry inside is staggering. You do have a lot of features. I like that auto (brain dead) setting.

26/03/13(Tue)20:38

Wow, that was fast! It does movies too?

Everything I have is Canon, but Nikon is an excellent company. I can't wait to see your pics! :)

26/03/13(Tue)20:15

And do you take requests? ;)
