>>21128 Looks great! My sister has chickens and a duck. Says they are the best tasting eggs she's ever had, though the shells are tough to open.

>>21128 We had about 250 of those Rhode Island Red hens. Best darn laying hen around.

After working for a lot of research scientists and doctors who work with cancer, it all boils down to genetics. The more people without the bad gene that marry into families with the bad gene the more children carry the gene. Sooner or later (in the future) all families will have the bad gene. What sets it into motion in the body is any kind of an irritation...bumping your leg on a coffee table, breathing cigarette smoke, asbestos dust or anything else to activate the white corpusles..ie...ratiation. This is what I've been told from the people that deal with cancer cells day in and day out.

And we wonder why cancer rates have skyrocketed in the last 50 years. Any link? Who can tell.

Good grief, OB, how is the WORLD habitable after all this. And people complain cigarette smoke is dangerous to others.

How is Nevada inhabitable after all of this?

Find a Mormon (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints). They all have a year of food and water saved for the "Great Tribulation". They'll be the first people killed for there stores.
I was on a job site years back and had dug about 2 feet down and hit solid concrete. It got wider and wider. Finally we discovered a metal door. We raised it and there were stairs and a room 12 or so feet down. CD shelters were built by some that feared war with Russia in the 50's. In school in the 50's we had drills jumping under our desks and covering our neck and head with our arms.
>>21061 Rent the movie Zombieland and follow the instructions.

This pic is from the Fallout series, a pc game, goodgrief.
Set just after the 1950's, China invades the US, some people take shelter in vaults, nuclear bombs fall, then fallout. The vault opens and you gotta survive..

>>21061 Well, I live in an apartment..not a vault or bunker nearby. Old quarries and mines are near but abandoned, so that could work. As for my standard zombie/fallout survival kit.. I'm missing a few items like a machete, a revolver or shotgun, ammo, med kit, MRE's, etc. I also have a flashlight, a knife and several food items that last a year or 2 :/

how prepared are we for this non-event? or for a catastrophe, in general? I have a few bottles of water stockpiled, and some canned food, but not much. One flashlight. Some sharp knives..

You realize it's going to be an adventure savoring that "Real dig-in flavor".

03/12/12(Mon)07:38

>>21051 all this stuff can be eaten straight from the box!

When? hahaha!!!

That "Insta Mash" sounds like a real apocalypse treat. Too bad THERE WON'T BE ANY OPERABLE MICROWAVES AROUND. When was that, anyway?
