>>20590 Regarding those poll results from BBC:

"A BBC World Service opinion poll has found sharply higher overseas approval ratings for US President Barack Obama than Republican challenger Mitt Romney.

An average of 50% favoured Mr Obama, with 9% for Mr Romney, in the survey of 21,797 people in 21 countries.

Only Pakistan's respondents said they would prefer to see Mr Romney win November's election.

France was the most strongly pro-Obama (72%).

The survey was conducted by GlobeScan/PIPA between 3 July and 3 September."

Obama can make changes to his performance, and hopefully Romney will be called to task for his comments and asked to provide specifics on his schemes to solving the problems facing America.

Well here it is. Obama came to town and spoke yesterday to the students at the UW. The students claimed a weak presence by Obama at the debate was due to the absence of his teleprompter and speach writers.

new report out today: "In 2009, 2,362 millionaires received unemployment benefits, down from 2,840 the year prior, according to a study from the Congressional Research Service, a non-partisan arm of U.S. Congress that provides policy and legal analysis. Of the 2,362 more than 1,000 receiving unemployment benefits had a household adjusted gross income of $1.5 million in 2009."

02/10/12(Tue)19:32

Jessie Ventura wants to abolish the two party system. As "out there" as he is with some of his beliefs and comments, I support ridding America of the parties. He says he'd like to run in 2016. Not sure he would have my vote, but it's something to think about..

02/10/12(Tue)19:27

02/10/12(Tue)19:26

>>19859 WTF is with a two party system anyway? Can't we survive without the "parties"? Cannot the system survive by looking out for the will of the people?

02/10/12(Tue)19:18

>>19857 They all amass a collection of executive orders. Part of the job. But there is no cozying up to Tea Party Republicans, nor to a Senate Minority Leader who says the agenda is to get rid of Obama. The nation puts more blame on Republicans than Democrats for the current hang ups in Congress..

02/10/12(Tue)19:09

>>19852 Isn't this guy the king of Executive order? I agree with GG that congress (both sides) is guilty of dragging down the process and tying the hands of the President (current and past). This is where a good president would be able to shmooze both sides and get them to agree with him (Clinton).

02/10/12(Tue)18:59

>>19839 Oldballs, how can you agree with goodgrief and then turn around and blame the president for not doing anything?? XD

>>19824 >>19838 Agreed

02/10/12(Tue)18:25

Let it show on the record that when the American people cried out for economic help, Barack Obama took refuge behind blaming Bush43 and meeting with the panel on the View rather than the panel on Jobs. Remember a recession is when your neighbor loses his job. A depression is when you lose yours. And recovery is when Barack Obama loses his.

02/10/12(Tue)18:24

>>19824 well put.

''No, no. I have been practicing...I bowled a 129. It's like -- it was like Special Olympics, or something.''
—Barack Obama, making an off-hand joke during an appearance on ''The Tonight Show,'' March 19, 2009 (Obama later called the head of the Special Olympics to apologize)

02/10/12(Tue)18:14

''In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died -- an entire town destroyed.''
—Barack Obama, on a Kansas tornado that killed 12 people

02/10/12(Tue)18:11

Claimed he would shut down Guantanamo Bay detention center - Never happened.

Promised transparent Government - Extended Executive privledge to Eric Holder to hide gun running involvement.

Passing on the keystone pipeline.

Granting amnesty for illegal aliens.

Weakening our country's image by bowing down and apologizing to anybody he can.

Obama to outgoing president Medvedev…"Tell Putin that this is my last election. After my election I will have more flexibility."

02/10/12(Tue)03:29

People blame presidents for what they do/don't do and pay little attention to Congress that keeps the President in check. The bottom line is that Congress sucks up our tax dollars for very little work. Then they backstab the President when he makes a bill they don't like and call it the Republican or Democrat' fault. Shift blame for another term in office and the President takes the hickey. It's a 'shell game', it's been going on forever and the public doesn't have a clue.

01/10/12(Mon)21:51

From a registered democrat who voted Obama 2008 and will vote Obama 2012:

There are many things the president can do that I won't agree with. Overall, he has done what any man can do given the economic misfortunes presented to him on his first day in 2009. I would naturally prefer he did more, but the political climate does not allow it.

He is not a bad president. If anyone would like to rattle off a list of things that make him "bad", I would also be interested in hearing it.

01/10/12(Mon)20:43

Okay, your posts are confusing the foreign guy.
Tell me in plain simple English why your current president is bad:

Obama promised in 2010 to put the panels back up, to heat the private residence at the WH for the first time. No solar panels yet!! That is a disappointment.
