Why deny Japan an Air Force but let Germany & Italy build up theirs after WW2?
Double standards.

I would go for the Saab Gripen (light and much cheaper) or the Eurofighter Typhoon (already build)

I was reading about how many countries were going to get some of these (three different models) and Japan was one of those countries. As I recall, they are limited to no air force whatsoever.

If you pay $618 million per plane you can have one for the rest of your life!

That depends on how long they let me keep it!
