About the only people using automatics here are lazy business men in big cars and people who couldn't pass the driving test with a manual geared car and so can only drive an automatic (or women as we sometimes call them ;P)

since i am lazy and don't want to look it up, can you explain to me in layman's terms why you guys have the steering wheel on the right-hand side of the car and drive on the left side of the road? and why america decided not to do it that way?
