I had a Discover Scuba clas tonight! Since there were only two students, I took my scooter, and new camera in the pool! There's video of me jetting around with the scooter!
I'm not uploading tonight because it will take too long! I'll post it here tomorrow! ;D

03/05/10(Mon)20:39

>>3937 Sweet finds :D

02/05/10(Sun)19:50

Thanks! For the price it's pretty good! :)
Today, Scuba Jim and I sank a platform at a local private lake to take the Rose-Hulman students for their open water check-out dives! It wore us out! :p
We also explored, and found an old hatch-back car, and a stationwaon! Still have not found the school bus that is said to be down there!

01/05/10(Sat)11:13

Sweet, Nice quality.

01/05/10(Sat)10:27

It's a scene from Jaws!!
Maybe next time have someone else hold the camera

01/05/10(Sat)06:00

>>3910 Very impressive. But if you take up sky diving you might want to change your technique.

01/05/10(Sat)02:06

>>3914 It actually sucked more than I thought it would! Notice most of the thrashing around was looking for my mask! Then I smoothed out a little- very little- after I found it! ;D
With both hands, I can do it in twenty seconds! :)

01/05/10(Sat)01:58

haha.. is this a new world record - videotaping yourself underwater putting your gear on? :D

nice job :)

01/05/10(Sat)01:47

Wait no more!

01/05/10(Sat)01:41

i'm waiting... :)

30/04/10(Fri)23:07

FINALLY!! I have it uploading to YouTube! (relief) I'm uploading the video of me putting on my scuba gear underwater! And that short HD video has a price! It's going to take 108 minutes to upload that thing! I'm going to play on the XBox to kill time while waiting! ;D

30/04/10(Fri)22:50

Might be getting somewhere now! The booklet said NOTHING about turning on the camera BEFORE plugging in to the USB! Have not yet been able to upload to YT! I'll keep working on it! :p

30/04/10(Fri)22:20

>>3902 Thanks Grimm! But I already found that manual, as it said on paige 20! But I don't see the window popping up, nor can I find it anywhere in the PC! Damn technology! :p

30/04/10(Fri)21:53
Big doggies!

The software is on the camera! Sometimes it is handy to read the manual ;p
set the video to 1080p @ 8M for best quality (BIG file)

30/04/10(Fri)21:16

There was no software that came with the camera! I was shocked- (not in that way)- that the instruction booklet had minimal operation instructions! I even got onto JVC.com for the "detailed" book, and it didn't have much more! It didn't even tell me how to operate the fast forward, or reverse feature! I had to mess with it to figure that out! Here's the test video from YouTube, with it set on 720 resolution-

30/04/10(Fri)20:45

Have you installed the software that came with the camera? There is probably a driver on the CD that will allow the PC to see files on the camera.

30/04/10(Fri)20:15

>>3885 The reader is built into the computer! Uusing the USB cord,(so far) has been only to charge the camera! I've tried to access it that way, but I have had no success reading the files through the USB cord! I plugged in a regular SD card (to the camera) and made a short test video, and I could see the files with it plugged into the PC! But playing t back on the PC, did not look very HD! I did get it to upload to YouTube that way! (yay) I'm going to upload another short one of the Dogs, to see how it looks on YT! I'm also waiting for the computer shop to call me back, to see if I need to upgrade the PC! It's too bad this hasn't worked yet, because I made a video of me putting my scuba gear on at the bottom of Rose-Hulmans' pool! Doing it with one hand while holding the camera with the other, made it look like I was being attacked! :D

30/04/10(Fri)17:53

all i can say is hmmmmmm

30/04/10(Fri)16:31

>>3873 where you using a separate card reader or an in built one? You may just be able to get a newer external card reader, although if the you can see the files on the camera using a USB cable then you should really be able to upload that way without a card reader.

30/04/10(Fri)03:17

Update! It works great in the water, not too bad for holding it still, but there's bad news!
I plugged the HD SD card in, and my computer won't take it! With the card in, everything is locked up, untill I unplug it! I guess I need to upgrade the computer! :(

29/04/10(Thu)22:14

I had been trying to upload with the camcorder connected via the USB! I'll have to try it with just the card later, because It's time to go to class!
Thanks JC! ;D

29/04/10(Thu)21:58

Only 6398 pics, seems kinda limited :D
I expect the video will be mpeg 4, it is best suited to HD. It's possible the direct to youtube bit simply means that the video is compatile to upload to youtube without having to be converted in to a different type. So with the camera/memory card connected to the computer you should probably be able to select the video file and just upload it.

29/04/10(Thu)21:55

If you hook the camera on the computer (usb) it will show up in windows explorer. Go to youtube and select the camera device and then the proper movie file.
BTW, does the camera auto name files or must/can you name the files manually?

29/04/10(Thu)20:16

>>3803 The electronics dept. told me they don't make a 32GB yet! So I bought a 16GB, and it has room for 6,398 pics at 8MPixels! (i think that's plenty) And 2 hours, 49 minutes of video time! Perfect! >>3807 I don't know what format, because the instructions are minimal at best! It's supposed to be able to upload videos straight to YouTube, but I haven't figured out that part yet! I tried, and tried yesterday to upload, but there was no choices on YT to make it work! Any suggestions!?!?
>>3813 Haven't tried the tub yet, but I tested the case in the sink to make sure it doesn't leak! I will make a video with it tonight at Rose-Hulmans' pool during class!

28/04/10(Wed)21:46

looks like it takes a great image and quality for both above and below sea level, seafox! have you tried it in the bathtub? :)

28/04/10(Wed)21:23

in what format does he store the videos?

28/04/10(Wed)21:12

How long a video can you get on 32Gb?? I have an 8Gb in my SLR and I can only fit 1950 pictures on it at full resolution :d

28/04/10(Wed)17:52

I've played around with it a little! It can take up to a 32GB memory card! The funny thing about it, is that you charge the built-in battery from a computer via the USB cord! It does have a fantastic price for it! $430 including the underwater case for it!
Here's the site for it!- http://ikelight.com/
Also there's more about the camera at- JVC.com!

28/04/10(Wed)12:33

Sweet! As long as it doesn't automatically add that music in the sample clip then this seems awesome :)

27/04/10(Tue)22:31

Here is a sample video of this camera!
