Fuck GoDaddy

Well godaddy has decided to stop allowing people with less than 50 domains to automatically update their DNS records. This means I can't keep Merlins-Bar automatically pointing to my server if my IP changes!

The useless cunt's didn't even have the decency to inform anyone they were doing it!

Fuck 'em. Time to change to a better company. There might be some disruption until it's sorted.

Glad you got it sorted, even if it is mostly for you and me...and sometimes the occasionally wanderer.

The emails should be the same and working as before.

A lot of the big hosting companies don't want to host porn on their servers, and I don't know if IONOS do that too, but that isn't a problem for me as I use my own server. I don't know how they feel about the domains being registered through them. I would guess they would only get upset if the domain name was something really obscene.

Is your email address on the about page still the same?

"Not sure what you mean by 'demand stuff' "
Didn't GoDaddy demanded no NSFW stuff, or limited?

Should be all sorted now. Yay :D

I've moved to IONOS as I already use them for my personal email account.

Not sure what you mean by 'demand stuff' but the whole process is pretty simple. You pay for your domain hosting yearly in advance so you can switch whenever you want you just won't get your money back. As I need to automatically adjust my DNS records as mu IP changes I had no option but to move them. I probably lost out about £15-20 but I don't really care about that. Now I have all my internet needs with one company and they have great tech support so I'm happy.

Who's gonna be the new domain host? And do they demand stuff? Can they?

14/10/24(Mon)21:10

I got rid of hosting with godaddy a long time aq0, but I kept the domains with them as they have to be registered through someone and I already used godaddy for that.

Static IP's are that common in the UK but they also don't change very often either. I'm happy to have a dynamic IP address so long as I can update the address with my domain host. Thankfully I will be able to do that again once the transfer is complete. Not sure when that will be yet as godaddy are fucking useless.

I thought you cut with Godaddy a long time ago? So..why not host it yourself and set a fixed ip-address?

In the process of changing domain host. Expect access to be sketchy until further notice.
