Thanks for the compliments vis :)

I'll start body animation next semester (March 1st) and facial animation probably a month or two after that.

thank you, ftcyp, for the link to your vimeo page. it is great to see your work there and i love the "girl in chains" animation.

if i had not found blender and 3d animation, i would be doing stop-motion clay work with you, which requires a real determination and patience. this cg animation makes life so much easier! :D

very nice! i rarely see animatics and am happy to see such things are being taught! i storyboard almost everything but believe for amateurs, it is a mostly overlooked step! when do you start animating (that's when the fun begins!) ?

You can see the animatic here:

The sounds are just placeholders for the future sounds. And of course, there's no ambiance yet.

thanks, ftcyp! it is my freshman effort and i can't wait to make more! how is your character coming along? are you going to make an animation? in space? :)

17/02/10(Wed)21:34

I can't believe this is your first 3d animation. Really really good :)
Hope to see some more in the future

1 hour on vimeo - thus the shittier transfer, i believe

3 and 1/2 hours on youtube - but the proof is in the pudding!

and total time to make it was about 6 months from start to finish, mostly working on weekends and evenings, since i have no other life :)

17/02/10(Wed)19:25

wow! 474MB?! how did that take to upload?!

17/02/10(Wed)18:56

thanks guys! :)

grim, the dirty details of this are:
3885 individual PNG image files
all imported into adobe premiere pro
exported as AVI - 474MB

vimeo totally screwed up the transfer. youtube did a much better job.

Great work Mr vis :D

17/02/10(Wed)09:33

GREAT!!! I like the movement of bobi, like shakira ;) Absolutely amazing! So how long did it took you to make this video?

>>2134what format are you using to upload on fb? I use wmp or mp4 (relative small files)

17/02/10(Wed)02:38

It's probably FB itself! I have not been able to post any photos there for a couple of months!

17/02/10(Wed)02:00

thanks seafox!

i cannot get this to appear on facebook. i believe i am "sharing" it the right way, but no video shows. anyone have an idea what i'm doing wrong?

Fantastic work! Amazing how the lollipop was such a marvelous actor! Did he do his own stunts?! :D
Seriously, it is a great little video!
Now, on to creating all of our characters! XD
