>>33153 I meant that I can turn V-sync off now without getting screen tearing. I had it on all the time on the prolite.
Here's the bugger: https://iiyama.com/us_en/products/prolite-xb2779qs-1/ stay away from it.

PS: who needs a WQHD panel? ;)

>>33147 Weird how you got tearing with v-sync on and not now with it off!?! But it makes sense that you would get far less tearing with a 144hz monitor.
My laptop is also a IPS screen with really great blacks and almost no backlight bleed, only OLED would be better I think.
>>33152 >>33151 You can really appreciate the extra detail here ;P

It's smoother all around with no more screen tearing (V-sync is turned off now).

Before, my monitor did max 60 Hz which meant that most games did a max of 60 fps and occasionally dropped a few frames (some to 50fps, others to 45 fps) and that's with V-sync turned on. Now games go above 60 fps with similar drop of about 10-15 frames but you don't have the screen tearing. It could be cause v-sync is turned off or just that there's no more frame cap. it's kinda hard to explain.

Even scrolling a website goes smoother or moving a page. Also it's an IPS panel (= COLORS) with almost non existing back light bleeding, the iiyama prolite ips monitor I had before was terrible with that.
Apparently I can overclock the monitor to 165Hz but I don't see a reason why..for now.

TL;DR: smoother, no tearing visible, just get a 144Hz monitor! ;)

ps: afterburner doesn't do the gameplay justice as it eats away a few frames and it stutters in playback, but not when recording. I haven't tried Nvidia's version yet, nor fraps :/

Have you remembered to upgrade your eyes to 144Hz? ;D
>>33145 How different does the 134.4 fps feel to the 60fps previously?
