>>31261 Turns out a Mustang V8 GT costs £34k in the UK. We don't get the convertible, probably too much trouble putting the steering wheel on the proper side. The four cylinder turbo is £30k. BTW the best selling new car in the UK is the Ford Fiesta, starting at £10k

This particular Mustang sells for $24,700 usd. Maybe not as good as the one you've pictured but pretty anyway.

>>31259 pretty much the same in the Netherlands, except we have a 21% tax on stuff. Tax on fuel, smokes, alcohol, etc.
Tax on buying a car (depending on weight, fuel economy, fuel type), tax on owning a car, and then the gov'ment wants toll roads too!!

Here's the new Ford Mustang with the V8 manual gearbox, in black metallic. Priced at €110089, that's a whoppin' 122,749.37 usd!

>>31245 In the UK you can reckon on losing around 25% of your wages to income tax and national insurance, nearly everything we buy has 20% VAT added to it, and petrol is currently £1.129 per litre of which 57.95 pence is fuel tax. There's VAT on the fuel too. That makes £4.27 per US gallon, by the way, and google tells me that equates to $6.56. You can see why we drive smaller cars.....

>>31247 Here's a very simple solution. Look in the mirror. Repeat 3 times..."I'm Fucked!" Go to bed and dream of fine butts.

>>31246 You're right. No sense in fighting it anymore.

Oil is down to $40 a barrel or something silly like that. In Southern Cali, Orange County, we're still paying $3.50 on average, as if oil was $80 a barrel. The whole system is completely rigged against the common man.

>>31245 Obviously some government jobs are a necessity. I'm sure the homeowner pictured is happy to pay the firemen and police, and teachers and such, as am I. But these millionaire senators in Congress pretending they understand the needs of GoodGrief or myself is really insane, and they play the parties against each other so well.

We're taxed from every angle, Grim. Gasoline will have a federal and state tax (about 30%). Wages have two taxes; one for retirement and another for the government (about 25% of gross wages). Our homes are taxed by the county (256 counties within Texas) that support local entities such as the schools, ports, etc. The city (Houston, within Harris county) has an 8.25% tax on everything except food, drugs, etc. Some states tax retirement income from the government (Social Security) some do not (about 5% of the check). Some states tax income from your job (about 5%) some do not.
Some officials rob the taxes and go to jail. Most do not but they have ways of robbing us and living fine lives and getting away with it.
Even though these seem like a lot of taxes, I think other countries take a larger percentage of a person's wages (50-55%).

>>31243 People have been looking for a 'savior' to cure their ills for a very long time. I've heard the slogans (lies) of Presidential hopefuls since 1943. They have done some good things for the public but most have fucked us up one side and down the other. The population is out of hand and the jobs are becoming fewer and fewer. War doesn't help anymore, they can't justify the high taxes anymore, and they've run out of answers. I stopped fighting the wind years ago when I decided one cannot fight the wind and be a victor.

I posted the pic cause the man thanks the firemen for saving his house. Ironic with that shirt, cause the fire department is a government job, right? same as the police, military and a lot of other stuff.

I wonder, do you guys pay both state & federal taxes? And how much taxes do you pay on annual basis? Is it really that much?

BEGIN RANT

I'm nearly committed to never voting again in a U.S. election because my choices are such dogshit and neither party reflects my views properly. I don't believe we have a democracy here as I can't guarantee my vote is actually counted, and I'm only allowed to vote for the person the establishment wants me to vote for (yes, I can write SeaFox's name on the ballot, but that's a complete waste of time, obviously. No offense to brother SeaFox.).

And now I see early primary states want to force Republican candidates to bend over and pledge their allegiance to the party if they want to be included on the ballot. Trump has threatened to run as an independent, but states are saying he must commit to the Republican party win, lose or draw and will not be allowed to run as an independent if he loses the primary.

I think it's very clear the two major parties do not want an outsider moving in and will stop at nothing to hold their power.

Less government and taxes? It sounds nice, but we'll never see it, regardless of the party in control.

More freedom? More liberty, truth, and happiness? Those are the last things our government wants us to have. Congressional approval rating, as of 8/2015, is 15%. Nothing changes.
