Maybe those inventions would be a little bulky around the belt in an auto, Grim. The real answer is better training and keeping the 'mad-men cops' behind a desk or boot them off the force. I don't think that Ferguson cop had time to install this 'ball' thingy.

Why don't they create a non-lethal under-barrel attachment for a pistol? Like a stun gun.
Or a 12 gauge revolver shotgun with pepper or mace round ;)

Why don't they shoot suspects in the leg (knee?) or shoulders. Training can do wonders, I hear.
