I'm with Stephen Fry 100%. I can't conceive to respect a god that has it in his power to create pain and misery, or to allow incredible acts of hatred or evil. I'm happy being not religious, and I grew up in a religious family so I know both sides. However, when all is said and done, each to his own, I will gladly respect the right of people to believe in god or be religious.
The point is his own point. If he'd do some reading, his question would be answered and the statement he's made, worthless. No matter what he's done or who is impressed by him, I couldn't take his thoughts on this matter and inculcate them into my own if it just boils down to "his opinion".
He's got a point. The 'modern' God is not kind god, by Christian/Protestant standards (most of the people in Limburg are Christian).
I do interest in (ancient) religions, even though I know it's a load of bollocks. However I don't mind religious people, but keep it to yourself. And don't shove it in my face.
