Owner said he hit a piece of metal in the road and it hit the battery causing a spark. The stock went down a tad but you'd think for a $70,000 investment the kinks would have been worked out. Maybe a $10,000 steel plate might help.

And then Tesla blamed the severity of the fire on the fire department not approaching it properly. Evidently they pierced the firewall for ventilation and that caused the entire car to be engulfed. If that's what happened then that is mad! Seems to make sense to me that these potentially highly dangerous batteries be well protected :/
