I watch Curling, because it's funny as heck! ;D

curling, a 'sport' invented by cleaning ladies

Was just reading a review on the 'most watched events' and you guessed it...swimming and gymnastics.

I noticed in the last winter olympics they aired a decent portion of curling (seems I'm not the only one that enjoys watching). We of the older generation can do this crap. Just like archery, shooting and the like we feel more at home watching something we can do. I'd love to shove that stone and sweep.

I missed the Curling!

>>18976 Agreed, and that majority is both the female audience, and those with simple minds hoping for cheap thrills from swimming, diving, running and gymnastics. Heaven forbid they replay a handball, soccer or basketball game in prime time.

"NBC goes with what the majority" in other words, ratings are better than facts.

All-in-all the show was nicely done, lets hope that all the ppl involved enjoyed it too.

I know what you mean about coverage but NBC goes with what the majority wants and that's what we see on prime time. To me, the good stuff comes late at night like skeet shooting, javalin, hammer throw, pole vault, high jump, etc. I'm in the minority and I know it so I just have to miss a little sleep.

It was a good show, overall. There are many complaints to be made about NBC's coverage, but I saw almost everything I wanted to see, including women's beach volleyball (gold), men's basketball (gold) and women's tennis (gold). I also discovered the game of Handball!

Two weeks of competition without anyone getting blown up. That ain't bad AND you didn't have to borrow money from China to do it.
