This cloud appeared in the skies last saturday morning. I watched the color spectrum start at the bottom of the cloud and pass all the way to the top, then the cloud returned to it's normal greyish-white..

>>16912 You mean the eclipse? Yeah, it was low.. We had a fog rolling in off the ocean just as this was happening, so it created a really ominous sky, as well as a muted view of the alignment. Still pretty cool to witness..

I'm not smart enough to describe or understand how these things are created.. but here's what wikipedia says:

"A circumhorizontal arc is an optical phenomenon - an ice-halo formed by plate-shaped ice crystals in high level cirrus clouds."

All I know is I was looking out my window at about 11:48 on a beautiful Saturday morning and saw this in the sky.

I also got some pretty cool pics of the eclipse last night. Did everyone see it??
