Cool, I can do it in 7 minutes too if I was in the real thing!

18/06/12(Mon)20:13

Talked to a guy I know, that was an actual A-10 pilot! He gets the real one started in 7 minutes! He also said during the first Gulf War, sometimes he was still hitting switches while rolling to the runway!

a ssd only really works if you plant the OS on it and games of course. And that would mean swapping the hdd. Not sure what the warranty is.
But hey, it's fun trying and it runs much faster. ;)

01/06/12(Fri)21:42

>>17207 yes the hdd is old skool, not sure if it has space for an internal second hdd, but with USB3 an external would be pretty quick.
As for price, should have been £750, but I found a bargain and got it for £530 :)

01/06/12(Fri)17:43

>>17201 oh! very impressive!
I presume the hard drive is 'old skool' and not an ssd. Can you install a secondary drive (ssd or hdd)?

And what about the price?

The keyboard is a Logitech G110 (can illuminate red, blue and anything in between). I wanted the G510 but it wasn't in stock :(
And I bought them in a store ;)

>>16652 I can't, I must share!
I don't like the look of the Saitek, too futuristic. But I'll probably buy the X52 as it comes out better in the reviews and is relatively cheap.

>>16628 Stop showing me this shit! :D Now I want one more than ever! XD
>>16635 I watched the whole video of those guy trying the star-up! It was pretty cool/funny!
>>16637 I've got the Saitek X45! I'm sure I've posed it on here before! The throttle has been having problems, because it won't go full throttle anymore! I have all the buttons/switches set so I don't have to take my hands off them when we were dogfighting! You can set them up to run everything on the planes, so you never have to look away from the screen to push a key to adjust something!

07/05/12(Mon)19:06

Seafox, what's your 'controller'? And is it a joystick with integrated or separated thrust?

Okay. I'm as far as starting up the battery and the generator too ;)
However I'm stuck with individual engine control, whatever key I assign on either the keyboard or joystick they just won't throttle up!
However when I do a quick start (already flying) I have no problems with the slider on the joystick.
Weird. Keep you posted!
