Concert Stage collapses during storm killing five!

They said in yesterdays paper, that there is no codes for temporary concert structures! But now some inspectors are saying that the canvas coverings should be removed when high winds are expected! It took a wind storm for someone to come up with that one!

I've been to a few of these outdoor concerts and have noticed how flimsy the construction of the stage and overhead is thinking if one of the performers cut a large fart the whole damn stage would collapse. You kind of wonder how the construction passes any kind of a code violation. Then I see this on the news and see it finally happened. Truly sad no forethought ever came to light.

You're welcome! Todays IndyStar said there are still 25 in the hospital!
The structure was built to remain in place for the time the fair is going on, and individual bands would keep adding their own equipment to the structure, adding more weight to it as the fair went along! Finally getting heavy enough to be easily blown over!

The National Weather Service went from a storm watch, to a storm warning in a half hour! They had made the announcement where people could seek shelter! Four minutes later, the stage collapsed!

saw it too..weather forecast said it could be windy but they had the concert anyway..

My Dad had just left the fair went it happened!
He wasn't at the concert, but there with other people!

Many were hurt badly! A three year old girl had flesh torn from her right arm, as her mother lay helpless with a broken leg!
