>>9542 Grim is right, an Nvidia 460 2Gb or 560 2Gb would be the minimum I would suggest for hardcore gaming. You'll even be able to play many games in 3D if you buy the optional glasses (my bro has it on his laptop and it's surprisingly good). Avoid a ATI card they are way behind at the moment.
>>9546 "The Road Warrior" - doesn't ring a bell?!? "Captain Pink House" on the other hand... ;P

24/05/11(Tue)12:50

I'll have to re-wire the house! ;D
I always go for overkill! You should have seen me when I raced moto-x and three wheelers! They called me the road warrior! Remember that name from somewhere else!? ;D

>>9542 NICE!! however..
3 points of interest could be:
-the minimal power supply (my motherboard say it's needs a minimum of 700W!)
-the video card could be an issue too (with some games it just doesn't look that good, i.e smoke/fire, I know cause I got the Radeon HD6850 1GB)
-do you really need Liquid Cooling? Are you gonna overclock your pc? If not than standard fans will do the trick just as good and are a lot cheaper!

Check!
- Go for at least 800W or more power supply
- check out Nvidia GTX 400 series (benchmarks)
I would love to have a GTX 460 2 GB ;)

For the rest it looks pretty good!

I think I want this one!

>>9529 They probably copied those 'dive videos', for 'technical' use :D

>>9529 Stop looking at my hard drive! :D

>>9516 Good to hear the porn stash, err I mean 'dive videos' are safe :)

Happy to hear it all went well.
Kind of discourging to find out a program you PAY for does more trouble than a free one.
Makes you think why bother with paying them at all

21/05/11(Sat)13:32

I'm back! It was a quick fix! They worked on it for about 45 minutes, and didn't even charge me for it! :D
One problem was the hard drive is pretty full! So I purchased a 2 terabyte (2,000,000,000,000) external hard drve to take the load off it! :D I moved all my dive videos over to it, so in case the whole thing crashes, I won't lose them!
Also I got rid of the AVG security, and downloaded Microsoft Security Essentials! Works much better now, and moving the files speeded up the computer a little! :D

20/05/11(Fri)18:58

bizarre.. sorry to hear about the troubles.. there was a short time when the new firefox would not play vimeo videos. it is fixed now, but what a pain in the ass computers are!

20/05/11(Fri)15:11

>>9490 Bummer :/

20/05/11(Fri)14:49

I'm taking the computer in to the shop! I have no idea how long they will have it, as we are all confused as to why it won't download Adobe! Hope to see you soon! :(

20/05/11(Fri)14:24

Ok! I'm still having problems! I just talked to the local computer guys, and they told me to uninstall AVG, and install microsoft security essentials! They said the new AVG is giving people problems with Adobe! Nice of them to tell me after I already paid for it!

16/05/11(Mon)19:46

>>9447 I do keep it up to date, but of course I'm being punished for it! I'll try the website you have for me here later, because I just got home, and now I have to go teach a scuba class! At least that's more fun than computer problems!

16/05/11(Mon)09:39

>>9441 I hope you do keep it up to date though, otherwise it'll be as much use as a chocolate fire guard :/
>>9440 All the more reason to use the free version of Avast :)
>>9438 It could be a Host file problem, follow the instructions here to reset it http://support.microsoft.com/kb/972034

16/05/11(Mon)06:15

i have avg on my computers (with the auto update turned off) and i've never had any problem dling.. you should try the free version!! ;)

16/05/11(Mon)00:24

I just talked to a useless representative at AVG! He want's me to pay $129.95 to connect me to a technician to "fix" the problem! I told them I'm not paying for something to get something else that's supposed to be free!!

16/05/11(Mon)00:06

>>9436 I've been looking some some sort of blocking from that site, but I don't see it on there!
>>9437 It's the exact same site JC! :(
I've been shutting off all the blocks, including shutting down the entire AVG protection! Nothing is working! I don't really want to un-install it, because I had to pay for it, and I don't want to lose it, and have to buy it again!

15/05/11(Sun)22:48

>>9435 It may simply be a problem with the Adobe download site... ...I just went to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ and downloaded that latest version without any trouble. Try that link if it is different from what you were doing, otherwise uninstall AVG and reboot the computer and try downloading again. As soon as you have done that install Avast (avast.com) it's better than AVG anyway :D

15/05/11(Sun)22:01

>>9435
You might have a custom block list implemented. I'm not sure how that works with avg, but if you can find the list and remove the site from there, you should be ok.

15/05/11(Sun)21:16

>>9434 It's just blocking the download for the adobe upgrade! I can get to the website, but when I hit the download button it kills off the page, tries to recover it, then dumps it again! It won't let the ActiveX bar drop down like it should!

15/05/11(Sun)20:00

>>9433
Does it block adobe.com, or does it simply not allow you to install anything?

15/05/11(Sun)19:37

Help!!!
I need the update for the Adobe flash player, and the AVG Internet Security won't let me do it!! I've already tried de-activating the anti-virus like it said to, and it still won't work! I'm not able to play any videos here or YT or anywhere! Any ideas?!

P.S. I had to install the new AVG about three weeks ago. All was fine, until yesterday.
