>>8011 Absolutely, but when and where can we vote?

All we old curmudgeons CAN do is bitch, sky-20. When I can vote against high prices, I'll do it.

>>7979 A few years ago, it was found out that Terre Haute (vigo county) had the cheapest fuel in the United States! That all changed, because some fuck-head reporter put it in the newpaper, and then it made national news so some big-wig oil execs decided to fix that real quick!

I feel like I'm back in the Barber shop in Fredericksburg.
The old guys were complaining about the gas going up $.5 for regular, does that mean they'll stop driving?
No, it's just easier to bitch.

Funny here in Houston that gasoline is made a mere 15 miles away in Pasadena and the prices are pretty much the same as Indiana. Wages are about the same. Now California, on the other hand, has its gas prices 75 cents or higher per gallon. Wages are somewhat higher also. I think oil companies gauge their gasoline prices on what the market will bare plus 10% or just enough to keep the public from rioting. BP was bitching about spending billions to clean up the oil leak here in the gulf of Mexico. That's merely chump-change to those greedy bastards. Congress allows oil companies to 'fix' those prices because oil companies pump monies into congress. Then I love all those excuses the oil companies give to the public as to why the prices are going up.

>>7968 HOLY SHIT! that much?! I'm so glad I ride my cheap(sort of) cycle.
At least my dad can laugh a little now, thanx Sideways ;p

£1.29 for a litre round here. We had fuel price protests a couple of years ago, but that was politically motivated. Now we have a right wing government the protesters have gone quiet.

did you know that petrol (Euro/Super 98) costs €1,43 for a liter?
(1 liter = 0.264172052 US gallons)
(€1,43 = $1,94 or £1.21)

And the funny think is, nobody here screams havoc?

Pretty soon you will need this much to buy a loaf of bread

I'll just take a little more off the corner! You'll never miss it! :p
