Gotta love those threats. Most of the retired people pump 100% of each month's check right back into the economy and the GDP couldn't stand that kind of loss. Pisses me off the government started using the retirement fund to pay its bills when it was no part of the general fund in the first place. Voting one corrupt bastard out for another corrupt bastard hasn't worked since the beginning of voting. Even the Constitution has been changed to benefit themselves as they have their OWN retirement. Makes a person want to puke.

of course, the article headline is absurd. the president of the u.s. is not threatening to stop checks. actually what he did was warn that the checks would stop if both parties could not solve a problem.

one day very soon, the debt ceiling will be raised and these idiots in charge (both parties) will hijack another issue and hold it for ransom. meanwhile, unemployment numbers are getting worse and politicians are more worried about their re-election than anything else. it is simply disgusting.
