More accurate temp in games: 39 to 42C at 100% core in Mass Effect Andromeda. Nice game, btw.

You could try this for a cheaper alternative...

The max temp for this processor is 91C. So I guess keeping it stable at 84C at 100% load @ 1800-1900MHz is pretty good. Especially if you take in consideration that the previous card (GTX 980Ti) had the same power connectors (PEG6+PEG8) but only ran at 1000MHz (standard clock) and 1075MHz (boost) with 6GB of GDDR5 @ 1735MHz and also ran warm/hot at 84C on load.

To nobody's surprise the custom air coolers are much better; the MSI variant does 68C on max load. However they weren't available at the time and/or were more expensive than the Founders Edition but the biggest reason was that I was going to install a water block anyway.

>>33421 Good call, 84c is a little warm ;)
I'm surprised it runs so hot as I thought these new cards are supposed to be very energy efficient.

Ordered a full water cooling block cause it's thermal throttling like crazy. Also 84C feels pretty hot. Not too mention the noise, bleh.

Done some benchmarks, also with a few games. Most games I replayed a scene, cause they didn't have ingame benchmarks, and took 10 screenshots. The average is written down.

Arma 3 is a game that didn't care much about a stronger GPU, this game is known to be a cpu core lover...(slut).
Another game that didn't show much improvement was Star Citizen. This game is still in the Alpha stage and therefor not optimized yet.
But the other games :O :D
