Dear goodgrief, 'what if' doesn't work. It's pointless and useless. I don't think that, "if everybody had carried a weapon", there would be less causalities. They would've adapted their strategy. Also, those fuckers are devoted to cause mayhem.

First off, these terrorists attacks don't really have that much to do with gun ownership. Had people in the building been armed, the terrorists wouldn't have caused as much chaos.
I did some research across several websites concerning homicides, guns and other weapons.
Of 192 countries in comparison, the U.S. ranks about in the middle. Gun deaths ranks us in the top 25% but not at the top.
We get a lot of bad press (we have a lot of reporters here) and other countries go left un-noticed.
As for ethnic hate or hate in general, we're way down the list.
Some countries don't list a homicide unless there's a conviction...UK for instance.
88.8 out of 100 people here own guns; higher than any country in the world yet Russia has more gun murders with few people owning guns.
El Paso, TX is one of the safest cities in the U.S. because everyone has a weapon and it sits right across a dirt ditch from Juarez, Mexico. Chicago, Ill., on the other hand, is among the most unsafe cities because of strict gun control laws. If everyone was armed on a subway, how many robberies do you think would take place?
