95?!? I'm quite happy with Windows 3.1!

>>26954 You better stick with 95 ;) you can switch the 'metro' completely off if you don't want to use it.

I paid €119/$163 (it includes €20 tax) for a 1 license Windows 8.1 English edition.
Mind you, everything is more expensive here. damn government tax

I'd wind up setting it out on the curb if it had anything more than an on/off switch.
Anyway, enjoy!
How much $$$ ?

I'm sure it''l be fine, but I just don't feel any need for the metro stuff. I'm happy with what I've got, and I'll wait and see what the next version of windows brings.

So is it that much different than W7? yes & no, at first you see those tiles (metro interface); this is actually very easy to use and to alter (right click). Also an hotmail account isn't necessary, I use a local admin account.

Pressing the windows key (on your keyboard) or left clicking on the windows button switches to the 'normal' desktop view and 'metro' interface. You will probably be most of the time at the 'normal' desktop, considering that if you launch a program it automatically goes there.

Now how is it for the tech savvy dorks, like me? Great! Easier access to command & config programs by 'right' clicking on the windows key (bottom left), or going to the 'metro' interface and just start typing what you need.
Task manager is more expanded: it shows more information. And probably a lot more but 1st I need to check W7 to see what else I need to re-install.
