Trooper Struck While on Call to a Burglary in Progress!
20/07/11(Wed)18:00

Just two miles East of me!
While I was giving Venus a bath, eight police cars, and two ambulances flew by the house yesterday! I thought maybe a wreck at the dip in the road, or maybe finding an escaped prisoner from last week!
The trooper traveling at high speed had to swerve to avoid a car that pulled in front of him! He slid sideways into oncoming traffic and got slamed! The rear door of the patrol car was stuck to the bumper of the SUV that plowed into him! Both went to the hospital, but the trooper has been released a little while ago!

Boy! I start a new thread, and look what you guys do to it! XD
>>10655 There was a prisoner that escaped from a vermillion county prison, (they didn't know he escaped for twelve hours) but they captured him in Illinois yesterday, so everything is ok now! I didn't know much about that story!
And Venus' bath went very well! She was very co-operative, and seemed to enjoy it in this heat! :)

Crown Vic a good choice for police cars nowadays. Strong electrical system to handle the A/C and all the electronic gear inside. They rate high on the JD Powers report card for frequency of repair and Ford probably offers the police a good fleet sales price. 'Course they don't perform too well looking like this.

>>10649 That was a 2010 Crown Victoria!
Al lights on and sirens! He was coming from the East, when one of the two cars in front of him changed lanes to go around the car that actually slowed down for him! He layed on the brakes and swerved, and the car went sideways into the Westbound lane, and POW!

Why was the cop driving so fast..donut sale?
Was he in pursuit with all lights and horns on?

And why does the State Police drive old Ford and Terre Haute drive (new) Dodge?

All this came the day after we had a big funeral for a city cop that was killed in the line of duty last week! He was serving an arrest warrant for a probation violator! He was shot twice in the head, and was able to return fire! Six other cops shot the suspect dead seconds later! Also the officers' police Dog was shot in the jaw trying to take him down! The Dog has survived, and attended the funeral!

Well Iheard a lot of ambulances in town last week. It turned out a whole camp of kids catched some virus infection that caused diarrhea. Poor kids. Having fun in summer camp is over. Oh and a guy was shot 5 times a few days ago in the city where I study, 15 kilometers from here. And he survived in the hospital! Thank god shootouts are very rare in Hungary.
