Interesting design here. Wondering if torque is increased. If so, putting them into construction equipment or large trucks might be a good thing. It would also be an attribute because of heat and fuel efficiency.

I seriously doubt these larger & wider engines will be going in cars any time soon. But it's good that the evolution of the combustion engine continues.

Porsche, Alfa Romeo, Mercedes Benz, Ford, Tatra, Citroen, Jowett, DAF, Rover, Volkswagen, Chevrolet, and Ferrari all used flat (Kontra) engines in their car(s). I actually like the sound of them, same as V4's.

An interesting new take on the Boxer (flat) engine. Subaru cars and BMW motorbikes have used boxer engines for years and they are great things. It'll be interesting to see if this new innovation makes it in to any production vehicles.
